TMJ & TMD
Since the 1950's research has shown that TMJ and TMD along with grinding and clenching has a strong connection to stress manifesting as jaw pain, clicking and headaches.

Dentists and Orthodontists have an important role in identifying if there is a structural cause and how to protect your teeth. OK, then what?

It is important to physically reduce the tightness and relieve the trigger points embedded in the musculature to allow for more fluid functioning.
It is equally important to address the emotional cause. While it is always an excellent plan to find ways to reduce one's stress, we sometimes need help. Especially when it is at the point of manifesting in physical pain. As an acupuncturist, this is exactly what we do. There are specific channels that cause specific pain patterns related to specific types of stress and emotions. Addressing and treating in this way can help treat the cause.
As a Licensed Massage Therapist I have taken extra coursework to be able to put gloves on and address all related musculature, along with decades of experience, as well being a Board Certified Acupuncturist, I am able to utlize both techniques for faster relief and to stop the chicken or the egg cycle of pain.
